Folgerung: anhaltende, grundlegende Negativentwicklung im Arten- und Biotopschutz trotz Schutzprädikat. Zur Behebung der aufgezeigten Defizite ist offensichtlich die Personalausstattung der Verwaltungsstellen der am Biosphärenreservat Rhön beteiligten Länder zu verbessern. Dies wurde vom MAB-Komitee erkannt und bemängelt (Offenbach-Post vom 25.8.03 "UNESCO vergibt Bestnoten an Biosphärenreservat“)

Kernzonen im Biosphärenreservat Rhön : Erfordernisse, bisherige Ausweisungen, Defizite und Lösungsmöglichkeiten am Beispiel des hessischen Teils

Aktueller Anlass, sich mit den Kernzonen im Biosphärenreservat Rhön zu befassen, ist das Flächendefizit bezüglich des obligatorischen 3 %-Anteils an der Gesamtfläche seit der Prädikats-Verleihung durch die UNESCO 1991. Weil 2011 die zweite Evaluierungsperiode zu Ende geht, drängt das DEUTSCHE NATIONALKOMITEE FÜR DAS UNESCO-PROGRAMM „Der Mensch und die Biosphäre (MAB) verständlicherweise, dieses Defizit bis dahin zu beheben, weil sonst die Aberkennung des Prädikats droht. Dieses Defizit ist in den drei beteiligten Bundesländern zu unterschiedlich. Am größten ist es in Bayern und Thüringen, während Hessen mit derzeit 2,4 % Kernzonenanteil dem Ziel 3 % schon recht nahekommt (fehlende Fläche derzeit ca. 370 ha). Trotzdem werden sich die folgenden Betrachtungen auf den hessischen Teil des Biosphärenreservats konzentrieren, da hier die inakzeptable Vorstellung einiger politisch Verantwortlicher im Raum steht, man könne dieses Defizit mit „kleinteiligen Lösungen“ ausgleichen (Fuldaer Zeitung 08.08.2008)

Zusammenfassend ist festzustellen, dass die geplante Baumaßnahme eine sehr schwere Beeinträchtigung des dortigen Lebensraums zur Folge hätte. Auch andere Bauvorhaben jedweder Funktion, z.B. landwirtschaftliche oder gewerbliche (etwa Außenstellen, Scheunen, Silos, Lager- oder Maschinenhallen)hätten den gleichen Effekt. Solche Eingriffe sind hinsichtlich der Funktion dieses Lebensraums als Rast- und Brutgebiet – besonders für Offenlandvögel – auch nicht ausgleichbar. (Wo könnte man in der Umgebung solche fast ebenen, übersichtlichen, strukturarmen landwirtschaftlichen Flächen zusätzlich schaffen?) Deshalb sollte dieser Lebensraum unverändert erhalten und von jeder weiteren Bebauung verschont werden und andere Standorte für geplante Bauvorhaben gesucht werden

The CAMP-binding Ectoprotein from Saccharomyces cereuisiae Is Membrane-anchored by Glycosyl-Phosphatidylinositol

Saccharomyces cerevisiae contains an amphiphilic CAMP-binding glycoprotein at the outer face of the plasma membrane (M, = 54,000). It is converted to a hydrophilic form byt reatment withg lycosyl-phosphatidylinositol- specific phospholipases C and D (GPIPLC/ D), suggesting membrane anchorage by a covalently bound glycolipid. Determination of the constituents of the purified anchor by gas-liquid chromatography and amino acid analysis reveals the presence of glycerol, myo-inositol, glucosamine, galactose, mannose, ethanolamine, and asparagine (as the carboxylterminal amino acido f the Pronase-digested proteitno which the anchor is attached). Complementary results are obtained by metabolic labeling, indicating that fatty acids and phosphorus are additional anchor constituents. The phosphoruiss resistant to alkalinep hosphatase, whereas approximately half is lost from the protein after treatment with GPI-PLD or nitroaucisd , and all is removed by aqueous HF indicating the presence of two phosphodiester bonds. Inhibition of Nglycosylation by tunicamycin or removal of proteinbound glycan chains by N-glycanase or Pronase does not abolish radiolabeling of the anchor structure by any of the above compounds. Analysis of the products obtained after sequential enzymic and chemical degradation of the anchor agrees with the arrangemoefn t constitutents in GPIs from higher eucaryotes. Learning with Algebraic Invariances, and the Invariant Kernel Trick

When solving data analysis problems it is important to integrate prior knowledge and/or structural invariances. This paper contributes by a novel framework for incorporating algebraic invariance structure into kernels. In particular, we show that algebraic properties such as sign symmetries in data, phase independence, scaling etc. can be included easily by essentially performing the kernel trick twice. We demonstrate the usefulness of our theory in simulations on selected applications such as sign-invariant spectral clustering and underdetermined ICA

The PerspectiveLiberator -- an upmixing 6DoF rendering plugin for single-perspective Ambisonic room impulse responses

Nowadays, virtual reality interfaces allow the user to change perspectives in six degrees of freedom (6DoF) virtually, and consistently with the visual part, the acoustic perspective needs to be updated interactively. Single-perspective rendering with dynamic head rotation already works quite reliably with upmixed first-order Ambisonic room impulse responses (ASDM, SIRR, etc.). This contribution presents a plugin to free the virtual perspective from the measured one by real-time perspective extrapolation: The PerspectiveLiberator. The plugin permits selecting between two different algorithms for directional resolution enhancement (ASDM, 4DE). And for its main task of convolution-based 6DoF rendering, the plugin detects and localizes prominent directional sound events in the early Ambisonic room impulse response and re-encodes them with direction, time of arrival, and level adapted to the variable perspective of the virtual listener. The diffuse residual is enhanced in directional resolution but remains unaffected by translatory movement to preserve as much of the original room impression as possible.Comment: 4 pages, submitted to conference: DAGA 2021, Vienna, Austria, 202
